The Brain Wave Lab ================== Marc Marc, update march 2004 Trouble shooting: ----------------- 1) When I start up the STEEM.EXE program, a configuration pops up. You did not extract the files into the correct directory. You should extract the ZIP file into drive C:\. After doing so, the folder 'brainlab' must be available in to C:\ !!! thus do not create the folder 'brainlab' or any other yourself! !!! do not extract to another drive! When you like to store the BWL program on another drive or folder, do this after you first have tested the BWL software according the base instructions. (changing to another location imply that you have to change pathnames in the STEEM.INI file) 2) - EXTERNAL DEVICES If you have troubles with the sound or goggles then, you have to check the sound settings of the STEEM program. - Start STEEM (the BWL program automatically) - Hit F12 - Click at the 7th icon from the left (at the top menu bar) to let the External Devices configuration menu pop up Check the following settings: a) MIDI Ports: Connect to - MIDI device b) Output device: Connect to - SB Audio PCI Midi synth (if you want to attach an external MIDI device: select SB Audio PCI MIDI out) ! It might be that both these options are named differently on your system. c) Max. Length: 64 KB d) Volume: at maximum e) Parallel port: Connect to - LPT (printer port) f) Serial port: Connect to - None
